Sailboats

I grew up spending the summer by a lake and loved watching the sailboats float by.  This card just takes me back to that "happy place" and brings back all kinds of great memories.
The circle that the sailboats are stamped on is also from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  The white washed wood lends itself to the nautical idea.

This is one of those "fun folds" and I love how it all comes together.

I love this sentiment.  The idea of staying calm on the lake just hits a chord with me.
The Pool Party cardstock is cut at 1-1/4" x 9-5/8" and scored at 4-1/4".
The Pool Party tab is cut at 1-1/4" x 4" and scored at 3".
The Wood Textures DSP is cut at 4" x 4".
Crumb Cake for the front is cut at 4-1/8" x 4-1/8".
Crumb Cake for the inside is cut at 5-1/8" x 4.
Whisper White for the inside is cut at 4-7/8" x 3-3/4".

Love & Thanks

Sometimes its good to stretch yourself.  These are not colors I normally am drawn to but I like making myself think outside of my box.  Or - get out of my own rut - whichever works.  Anyway, I thought this was a great card and loved the pop of color.  The fatter leaf was stamped on the background in full strength of Berry Burst while the longer leaf was stamped off once to fill in the empty space.  The small leaf on the stitched circle was also stamped off before stamping three times onto the Whisper White but full strength onto the Coastal Cabana cardstock.

I liked adding the little flower on the inside of the card too to tie it all together.

Flower Thank You

Recently Dawn Olchefske had this card on her blog.  I thought it was so pretty and wanted to make my own version of it.  It's interesting how there is a weird optical illusion that makes the lower flowers appear white but they are not colored in at all.  It's just the Very Vanilla cardstock.

Here is another angle of the card and it still gives that look of white flowers.

And for the inside of the card I wanted to add a sweet little border so this is what I came up with.
