Butterfly Thank You

Here is another quick 3 x 3 card using our Butterfly punches.  Once again I added the Designer Series Paper to the flap of the envelope to finish off the card.

Minions

How can you look at these little guys and not just smile!  Aren't they adorable!  One again Jodie & Melanie's Card Buffet was a huge hit with these little critters as part of the selection.  Melanie Battles designed these little guys and had everything pre punched for us (yes, she is spoiling us) so they were a snap to put together - but I'm sure it wasn't a snap for her preparing for us!  The wisp of hair on top of their heads just cracks me up!

Tag Talk

I pulled out a stamp set I hadn't used before and found some really cute 3x3 cards to make all using one stamp set.  I also wanted to use some Designer Series Paper that I had lying around - can anyone tell me why I'm hoarding this stuff? - and this is all from the Back to Black Designer Series.

I've also found that covering the back flap of the envelope also really finishes off the card in a cute way.

For this one I punched out a Basic Black Label Bracket, cut it in half, spread it out a bit to give a shadow effect behind the "For You" stamp.  And this cotton ribbon really is soft and easy to work with.  A little baker's twine on top and it's just a fun little accent!  A big shout out to Jackie Bolhuis for these ideas.

Something for Baby

I just went to Jodie and Melanie's Card Buffet and these cards were part of the selection this month.  How adorable are these!?!  Jodie Wetzell designed these cuties and I thought they were just adorable!

Here is how the inside is finished off carrying the Designer Series Paper to the inside.  Cute right?

Need a little girl version?  Here it is.  Adorable.  She had us use a sponge dauber with a stencil from one of our card kits to form the background for this one.

A little more Designer Series Paper finished this one off nicely too.  Love it!  Nice job Jodie!

New In Colors for 2015-2017

I made up these little 3 x 3 cards to show you the new In Colors for 2015-1017.  From right to left the new In Colors are Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron.  Notice we also have new 1" Dotted Lace Trim that matches the colors and also Blossom Accents.  And I have to tell you the ribbon is amazing.  I was pleasantly surprised by how soft the ribbon was and how easy it was to use.  I think we all are really going to enjoy these new colors added to our selection of colors to choose from.

Happy Father's Day

Well, it's that time of year to start thinking about Father's Day.  Now, you can change the sentiment here and make it another card but for now, this is what I needed.

I love how the Window Frames framelits makes almost the shape of an old timer's head!  Cracks me up!  I'm so sad to see that the Window Frames and the Mustache Framelits are both on the retired list.  Well, grab them while you can!

Here is what I put on the inside of the card.  I love how this carries from the front of the card into the inside.

I also used a window sheet behind the ring of Early Espresso card stock to give the illusion of glass.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Jennifer G Crafts for this card.  It all came together pretty quickly. Have fun giving it a try!

Thinking of You

This is a card that I CASED from a dear friend of mine, Tawnya Bonnell, who has inspired me in more ways than she will ever know!  Click here to see her great blog.

I love the softness of this color combination and yet it also is so elegant.  You could change the sentiment and it could easily be a beautiful wedding card!

Here is the inside of the card.  Just a little "somethin' somethin'" to finish it off.

Congrats Grad

At this time of year it is always a good idea to have a few of these graduation cards sitting around because you never know when you will get another invitation or announcement in the mail - right?

This card is CASED from Dawn Olchefske and I just loved how it came out.  What makes me sad is that this stamp set and embossing folder are both on the retired list so if you like them you'll want to grab them quickly!

I thought this sentiment on the inside was kind of fun too!  Have fun making a few to keep in your stash!

Candy Bar

Here is a fun card that I made which was inspired by my friend Christine Lewis.  I love how she used the Early Espresso card stock to give the chocolate a shaded look.  Chocolate Chip card stock was used to created the top level of the chocolate using the 1" square punch and then a layer under that (with a Stampin' Dimensional) using a 1-1/4" square of Early Espresso.

I love the whimsey of the card and hey, who doesn't love chocolate, right?  I finished off the card on the inside by adding another single piece of "chocolate" using the same process as making the chocolate on the outside front of the card.  Grab some foil out of your kitchen drawer and give it a try!

Zoo Babies

A card was needed for a baby shower for a co-worker of my husband so thanks to inspiration from Pintrest, I was able to make this card.

I started off by punching holes in the front panel, ran it through the Big Shot, then stamped the animals on separate pieces of card stock and attached them to the embossed piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I actually used the markers to color the stamps as I wanted multiple colors on the images.

Here is the inside of the card.  I used the sentiment from the Petite Pairs stamp set.  I added the boarder to give some weight to the card as all the colors were so light and I thought the darker edge helped to ground the card.

It was fun to add the "greenery" to give it more of that jungle effect.  I used both the Bird Builder punch and the retired Little Leaves Sizzlet.  The couple is expecting twin boys so I thought they should get used to the whole "wild animal" thing!  :-)

Wedding Cake

This card is CASED from Kay Kalthoff and I love the way the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter exactly matches the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  I think it is an elegant wedding card that any bride would love to receive.  The Sahara Sand Lace trim really finishes this off.

Fun Flower Birthday

This was one of the cards at our last Card Buffet.  It was inspired by a card made by Heather Van Looy.  I loved the detail of the ribbon becoming the stem and leaves for this card.

You're My Anchor

I've got summer on the brain and when I saw this card it put a smile on my face.  It is CASED from Julie Davidson.  I  used Designer Silver Basics Buttons that I had on my shelf and attached it to the card front using glue dots.  I also added a mini brad onto the anchor to pull in the silver color from the button.

Sending Love and Sympathy

Here is another card from our recent Card Buffet.  I love the elegance of this card yet the respectful feel of it considering that it is a sympathy card.  To get the Sahara Sand image in the background of the flowers, the Clear Block "D" was put directly into the ink pad and used as a stamp all by itself.  This give another "layer" without actually using more card stock.  Love it!  This was CASED from Sandy Mathis.

Another Mother's Day Card

Here is a super fast card to put together - for those of us "last minute" people.  :-)  It came together in no time - exactly what I had!  But I still like how it looks so that made me happy.

Happy Mother's Day

Here is a beautiful Mother's Day card that I just finished putting together.  I love how it turned out!  I "fussy cut" the two smaller layers of flowers using the same stamp 3 times from the "Crazy About You" stamp set.  I ran the Very Vanilla card stock through the Big Shot 3 times - once to get the scalloped edge, second time to get the Delicate Design lacy edge, the third time to get the Perfect Polka Dots.  I used Liquid Multipurpose Glue to attach the "happy" from the "Hello You" Thinlits Dies.  Thanks to Laura Mellinger for the inspiration!
