Congratulations to the Bride and Groom

This morning I had to make a quick wedding card for a dear friend of my daughters so thanks to inspiration from Susie Wood I came up with this card.  It came together quickly and I was grateful as time was NOT on my side this morning.   :-)

Happy Easter Cross

Although I had to use a few retired items I love the elegance of this Easter card.  This was CASED from Linda Rodenberg and when I saw it I knew I had to make it!  We had this on our last Card Buffet.  The retired items are the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for the small Wisteria Wonder flowers and also Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon for the sash.  Some of the gals changed this from an Easter card to a Confirmation card for members of their family.  I LOVE the creativity of the stampers that I get to stamp with!!

Hippity-Hoppity

Here is another sweet card designed by Melanie Battles.  I love the softness of the pastels yet the fun of a little bunny.  I thought it was so clever of her to stamp the dress of the bunny onto other card stock and then use the punch to get the flowers out of her dress to tie it all together!

For Peeps' Sake

Here is another card that was in our last Card Buffet.  I have to give total credit for this card to Jodie Wetzell who used this as her swap for Leadership.  I love the spunky cuteness of it.  The bright colors are so perfect for this time of year when we're all ready for the dreary winter to give way to the colors of spring!  I used a little drop of crystal effects on the end of the sequin ribbon to keep it from fraying.

Yee-Haw

This is for the cow girl in all of us with a little "bling" to top it off.  Melanie Battles designed this card and I was fortunate enough to make it at her card buffet.  I love the way she got a little rustic yet still worked in a little glitz.  It works!

Jodie's Tree

I love the softness of this card and the versatility of it too.  I can think of so many occasions to send this out.  I was fortunate enough to go to Jodie Wetzell and Melanie Battles card buffet a few weeks back and this was one of the cards designed by Jodie Wetzell.  She is a dear friend and a talented designer.  I love the added touch of the linen thread tied around the spine of the card.  Just a little something extra to make it special!  The tiny flowers are punched out of the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack.

Moon Lake

I saw this card on Susie Wood's blog and immediately wanted to CASE it.  It went together SO quickly that it was a fun card to put together.

I cut the base Soft Suede card stock at 4-1/4" x 11", scored it at 5-1/2" then cut off 2-3/4" off of one end which gave me the background for the goose - or is that a loon?  I don't know one bird from another.  But I still like the card.  I attached the left side of the bird layer to the base card with sticky strip so it would be a strong attachment.

Thank You

I needed some quick thank you notes and I was able to make a dozen of these in less than an hour - and that's with stamping the inside and envelopes too!  Can't beat that!  Thank to Dawn Olchefske for her inspiration.

Easter Treat Box

Here is a fun and cute Easter treat box.  I got the tutorial from Chat Wszelaki.  I highly recommend her stuff.  She is an amazing designer and comes up with some darling ideas.

Start off with card stock cut at 2" x 11" and another cut at 4-1/2" x 4-1/2".
Score the 2" x 11" at 4-1/2" and 6-1/2".
Score the 4-1/2" x 4-1/2"at 1-1/4" on all 4 sides.

Using the bone folder crease all the scored lines and then cut as shown above.

Bring the sides together adding a little glue and then bring the bottom up and using a stapler, staple it all together as shown.

Your box should look something like this.

Cut some coordinating Designer Series paper at 2" x 1-1/4".  You will need 2 of these.  Glue these over the stapled sides of the box.

Using the Ornate Tag Topper punch, punch both ends of the 2" x 11" piece of card stock.

You should end up with something that looks like this.

Fold on the creased lines and then add some ribbon through the holes at the top to hold it together.

Insert your small box that you just made into the bottom of the Tag Topper holder.

Cut some more Designer Series Paper that coordinates with your color choice at 3-1'2" x 1-3/4".

Flag the bottom of this paper to give it the look of a banner.

Add sticky strip to the top of the back of this paper.

Attach this to the front of your treat box.

Cut more colored card stock at 3" x 2" and Whisper White card stock at 2-1/4" x 1-3/4".

Punch the colored card stock with the Ornate Punch and stamp your sentiment onto the Whisper White card stock.  Take some Linen Thread and tie it through a coordinating button.

Put it all together, add some "grass" and candy and this is what you end up with.

I used the color choices from the freebies in our Sale-A-Bration of ribbon and buttons so these are Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral.  Have fun giving it a try!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This card is totally CASED from Mary Fish.  I loved what she did to create a little Irish flair.  His hat is created by using the Extra-Large Oval punch and the brim was made using the Word Window punch but extended by only inserting one end into the punch at a time.  This was my first time using the Bow Builder punch so I had fun with that.

Hello Spring

Well, we can all dream about spring can't we.  Here is my version of wishing on spring.  This new set from the Occasions Catalog has so much versatility and I can see using the tree for all of the seasons.  I am also loving the Crazy about You stamp set with all of the words as it allows us to customize exactly what we want to say with the versatility of the photopolymer set.  I am enjoying using the Hexagon punch to make my banner tails.  It's a fast and easy way to get it to look sharp and exact every single time!

My attempt at the Bokeh technique

So it seems like this Bokeh technique is all the rage these days so I wanted to give it a try.  I've learned that Bokeh is a photography technique defined as the way a lens renders points of light.  The key is the blur effect.

On each one I used three ink colors that I sponge daubed onto Whisper White card stock randomly putting the colors on the Whisper White leaving no white spaces.  Then I came back over the card stock using a template I made punching holes onto a Window Sheet.  Some holes I punched out with our punches, other holes were made using our circles framelits.  They also were just randomly on the template and I moved the template around to get the coverage I wanted.  Using Craft Whisper White ink and another sponge dauber I daubed the white circles over the colored project.

Here are my first tries at this.

I used Pistachio Pudding, Wild Wasabi and Tempting Turquoise ink on this first one.  I cut the balloons out and covered them with Crystal Effects.  Using our Blendabilities I even colored the sequins to match the Bokeh.

The colors used here are Island Indigo, Pool Party and Calypso Coral.

Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo were used on this card.  I little bling always finishes off a project doesn't it?

Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum finishes this one off.  I embossed the sentiment on Velum card stock and added that to the edge of the card.

This is a fun technique.  I hope you give it try!

Just Kidding

A new photopolymer stamp set has been added to our collection.  Isn't this cute!  It cracks me up!  I already have a few friends in mind who I'll have to make a card for out of this stamp set.  Good thing they share my sense of humor.  :-)

Just Because

I needed some quick cards and my sweet friend Tawnya Bonnell came to the rescue!  This is totally CASED from her design and I just LOVE it!  Check out her blog right here.  There is a simple elegance to this card that I am totally drawn to.  And with spring in the air, the colors are perfect!

Painted Petals Sympathy

We never want to have to use a sympathy card but when we do, it's nice to have a few on hand.  Here is a gorgeous card designed by Josie Wicklund that I made at her Card Buffet.  I love how the stamped image mirrors the Designer Series Paper.  It's delicate but beautiful.  It's wonderful having such talented friends who design such gorgeous cards!
