Birthday Greetings

Here is a simple little card that captures the feeling of summer with naturalness of the Crumb Cake card stock and the circles of flowers.

I started out using my Simply Scored tool and scored the Crumb Cake card stock every 1/8" starting at 1" and ending at 1-5/8".  When you turn it over, you have the raised embossed look to adhere the circles to.

And here is what the inside looks like - a match to the envelope that I also stamped in the above picture.

This card is CASED from Dawn Olchefske.

Praying for You...

There have been many blogs out there that have been showing how to color the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper so I wanted to give it a try.

I started out by cutting the Designer Series Paper in a way that highlighted the roses as I wanted to show them.  Then I simply colored the roses using a Blushing Bride marker.

I love the elegance and the vintage feel that these cards give.  There is a softness to them that I am really drawn to.

Because the print is so big, each card ended up looking a little bit different - and I kind of like that.

Thanks to Claire Daly and many others who inspired this card.

July Paper Pumpkin

Today I decided to play with my July Paper Pumpkin.  It goes together so quickly and it's really cute with the pre-cut little coffee cups.  I made it as the directions said but I can see how you could really use this little stamp set in so many different ways.

And it also comes with some cute envelopes that you also put together.  It really makes it a cute card. If you've been thinking of joining Paper Pumpkin, this is a great time!  Go to PaperPumpkin.com and you can sign up for whatever program is right for you.  If you prepay, there is always a discount - and don't we all love discounts!  I'd love for you to choose me as your demonstrator.  Have fun!

Convention Gifts

This year I am traveling to Convention with two friends who have never attended Convention before so I thought it would be fun to have a little gift for them.  This is what I came up with.

Yup, it's a survival kit!  It was so much fun to collect all the goodies and pack them up in their cases.  Do you recognize our wide stamp cases?  I went to our local hardware store, picked up some handles and had my hubby drill holes for me so I could add the handles.

And OF COURSE I had to make a matching gift bag to present it in...    I hope they enjoy it as much as I had fun putting it together.

So now it's your time to go and "do more of what makes you happy"!!

Convention Swaps

Each Christmas I put candles in my windows with greens and this ribbon made me think of that.  A little Dazzling Diamonds on the flames and I'm having Christmas in July!

After giving myself permission to skip doing swaps at Convention this year I broke down last night and cranked out 52 of these.

Congratulations Baby

My nephew and his wife just had a beautiful baby girl.  Here is a card I made for them.

After multiple generations of only boys this little girl is a true joy.  She is only a few days old and her grandpa said he's already given her the car keys!

A little stamping on the envelope and this card is ready for the mail.

Thanks Kindly

Here is another fun card using the Watercolor Wings stamp set that I CASED from Connie Stewart.  I changed up a few things but it is her design.  I stamped the butterfly on the front of the card and then added the black butterfly that was cut out using the Bold Butterfly Framelits.

Gold Glitz Dazzling Details was added to the black butterfly and also in the 3 dots by the words to give it a little more "bling".

I stamped the butterfly on the inside of the card and also the envelope to finish off the card.

Soccer Ball

I've seen a variety of soccer ball cards out there and I finally decided to give it a try.  It's really quite easy!  I started off with a piece of Cucumber Crush card stock, punched out my hexagons and started gluing them on to the Cucumber Crush.  I started with the center black hexagon and continued around in a circle.  Then I took the circle framelits and cut the whole thing at once giving me a perfect circle.  I did learn how important it is to glue ALL the edges down as some on the tiny black pieces were falling off at first because I didn't have enough adhesive on all the edges to hold them down once I ran it through the Big Shot.

This sentiment is from one of our new stamp sets and it's always fun to use the new sets.  I'm often too guilty of going back to the tried and true instead of giving the new a chance.  Thanks to Cathy Caines for the inspiration for this card.

Band Aid Card

I wanted a quick and easy "get well" card.  This band aid idea has been around for a long time but I wanted to give it a shot.  I thought it was still kind of cute.  Our Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder has been retired but it was still the perfect choice to make the image of the bandage just right.  I also used an oldie but goodie punch with the 3 hearts because it was just what this card called for.  I raised both the bandage and the center part each with dimensionals to give it the look I wanted.

And of course the third heart found a home on the inside of the card.  The Crumb Cake card stock was cut at 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" with the center at 1-1/2" x 1".

Kinda Eclectic

Here is a card we had in our last card buffet.  I love the earthiness and naturalness of it.  I added a little linen thread to make "antennas" to the butterfly and lifted them off the card with a Stampin' Dimensional.

And I always love to add a little something on the inside to tie it all together.  Thanks to Laura Mackie for inspiration for this card.

I'm here for you

I'm loving the new Mint Macaron color, the Boho Chic embossing folder and "You've Got This" stamp set.  And the new ribbon was so much softer than I expected!  Yum!  I did use the retired Party Pennants Bigz Die but it just fit this so nicely.

And I added a little more of the embossed look onto the inside of the card by adding a small strip across the top.  Fun - right?  Thanks to Mary Brown for this inspiration.

Sprinkles of Life

Here is one of our new stamps from the new catalog.  I love the fact that $3.00 of every sale of this stamp set goes towards the Ronald McDonald homes.  We also have a new Tree Builder punch that goes with this stamp set to make punching out the images so much easier!

I even finished off the inside with a few sprinkles to give it a little extra something.

World's Greatest Husband Part 2

So this is the second card my dear hubby got from me for celebrating our 35 years together.  I lucked out as my dear friend Melinda Russell was kind enough to make this for me.  I am truly blessed with amazing friends!  Since we went away for our anniversary this card was just perfect!

And you KNOW I love that little something on the inside and Melinda never lets me down!  :-)

Just Because Butterfly

This gorgeous piece of art was another swap treasure that I received from Sheryl Diemer.  This is just stunning in real life.  She folded Whisper White card stock in half, cut out the butterfly from the front panel leaving a big hole.  She then took another piece of card stock cut at 5-1/4" x 4" and using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set splashed a number of colors on it and then attached it from the back using glue dots.  She told us that for the ribbon she took some of our Burlap Ribbon and pulled some strands from that to create the bow.  The "just because" is lifted up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I've GOT to find some time to try to make this card myself!

Good Things

This beautiful card was made by Bonnie Alexander (check out her blog here).  I was one of the lucky recipients in a card swap.  I love the way she made the gorgeous frame out of the Silver Foil paper and also how she used both our new ribbon and card stock together to form the banners on the side.  And also the visual interest of bringing the white card stock down into a corner instead of the traditional centering.  Isn't it great!
