Thankful

This is another card that we made at the shoe box swap that I recently attended.  This card was designed by Sheryl Diemer.  Check out her amazing blog by clicking here.

I love how she used our corrugated paper and still used our embossing folders to create such a cool effect on the front of the card.  And isn't it clever how she used our Designer Series Paper to punch a circle out of?  Yes, that center flower is our Designer Series Paper - no stamping at all!!  CLEVER!

And I love how she carried the corrugated paper to the inside of the card too.  So cute!  Thanks Sheryl!!

Snow Way!

I recently participated in a shoe box swap hosted by my dear friend Mary Booker.  8 of us participated and had a wonderful time.  I've met a wonderful new friend - Nancy Bowen - who designed this card.  Isn't this guy adorable???  It's almost like he's looking up at the sky waiting to catch another snowflake on his tongue.

She used the tree builder punch to make his cute little arms and the hat is cut using one of the framelits from the Snow Friends Framelits Dies.

And of course you have to have a greeting on the inside, right?  Ta da - and it's done!  Thanks Nancy for this adorable card and safe travels as you cross the country over the next few days!

September Paper Pumpkin

My September Paper Pumpkin just showed up and I whipped this little cutie up in no time flat!  How cute is this!?!?  I put a few miniature candy bars in there and it went together in a snap!  There are 8 of these in this months kit.

There are so many stamps with this kit and you have so many choices!  I'm hosting Thanksgiving at my house this year and I thought these would make adorable table favors so I'm definitely ordering some refills as I'll be wanting to make more of these.  (The order number for refills for this kit is 139650 and the cost is $8.00)  Of course there are choices for Halloween in there too if you'd rather be making Halloween treats with this kit.

The tags are already pre cut for you so all you have to do is layer and tie them on.  Easy peasy!  What a fun treat!!  If you want to watch a quick video on YouTube to see this put together Click here.  Have fun putting your kit together.  And if you haven't already signed up, you don't want to miss out. Go to PaperPumkin.com and start your subscription today!!

We're showing our support for breast cancer awareness next month with pink boxes and a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation: $1 USD/with every subscriber and an additional $1 USD/for every new subscriber.  What a great time to join in!

Be Filled With Wonder

If you need a QUICK and EASY Christmas card - here is your ticket!  This one goes together so fast but looks quite elegant.  One big stamp on the base, a punch, a doily and then another punch layered with an iced rhinestone and voila!  You've got your card!

It has a lot of depth with the layers which gives it a lovely rich feeling to the card.  The silver doily and the iced rhinestone just set it off.

And a little more snow on the inside (and this is two snowflakes in one stamp) and your good to go.

With a card that goes together this quickly it takes no more time to add a matching envelope.  Whee!

Thanks and Giving

As the leaves begin to change color its wonderful to be able to capture that in our card making.  This card is CASED from Brain King and I love how he grabbed so many of the fall colors into the leaves and yet beautifully brought our attention back to the Thanks and Giving sentiment.

It's nice to be able to make it look like specialty paper behind the sentiment when actually that is all stamping.

I kept the layering on the inside but added just a simple leaf to tie it all together.

One more leaf on the envelope and this card is ready to go!

Warm Wishes

After living in Wisconsin for 12 years you just can't help but fall in love with the North Woods.  When I saw this card I just had to make it as it took me right back up north.

There was a lot of sponging done on this card.  Everything from the wood grain, to the edges to the ribbon got a little extra Crumb Cake ink added to it.  Yup, even the ribbon got a little rub down with the sponge.  I love how it truly warms up the whole card.  I added both candy dots and the Snowflake Elements made from wood.  It just fits with it all.

And of course the inside needs a little attention too.  But by not adding any words to this card, it can be a Christmas card, a birthday card, a "thinking of you" or anything I want it to be.

CASED from Kay Kalthoff.

Happy Happy Halloween

This is a sweet LITTLE card as it is only 4-1/4" x 4-1/4".  To make this I used our brayer with Memento Black ink to color one of our doilies.  I used our circle framelits to cut the Hello Honey card stock for the center of the front and fussy cut the square around the "Happy Happy Halloween" from the Sweet Hauntings stamp set.

A little "BOO" on the inside with the matching bats from the front and this card is ready for the mail. Thanks to Brian King for this inspiration.

Brewing Up Something Wicked

This card was fun to make as our Designer Series Paper did most of my work for me.  I used our Happy Hauntings Designer Series Paper and just cut around the tombstones to create this fun front.  I used Blackberry Ink to sponge around Rich Razzleberry card stock and then stamped one star and the work "wicked" in Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I used our Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Write Marker to color just some of the words for "Brewing Up Something" as I only wanted that part of the saying from that stamp set.  I used Old Olive card stock behind the Rich Razzleberry  to just made it pop off the black background a little more.

And of course a tomb stone to finish off the inside.  Perfect - right?  Thanks to Shawn de Oliverira for this inspiration.

Watercolor Wishes Card Kit Class

This past weekend we had a Watercolor Wishes Card Kit class.  What fun!  3 of us cranked out 60 cards in 2 hours!!

We started off following the directions exactly as they were printed out in the instructions but pretty soon we were off and rolling creating our own masterpieces!

This is such an adorable collection of cards.  If you haven't gotten this kit yet, you need to!  Really, it makes the cutest cards and it all comes together so quickly as they have so much already die cut for you.

And did I mention that this kit comes with the cards, the directions, the embellishment (with plenty left over for future projects), a full stamp set, 2 Stampin' Spots (ink pads), and even Stampin' Dimensionals.

And the beauty of women getting together and sharing the joy of stamping with the joy of living is truly a beautiful thing!

I can't wait to start seeing out these cards.  They are each special in their own way.

Water Color Wings

I thought this was a fun and bold choice for colors for the butterfly.  I had seen so many butterflies done in the orange colors but this one caught my eye.  I actually found that it was easier to stamp this butterfly AFTER I had cut out the shape using the framelits.  It made it easier to line up the body of the butterfly and even the wings.  The floating dots give the illusion of flight and the silver thread behind the butterfly added even more movement and I just thought the whole thing worked together

Of course I had to add a baby butterfly on the inside to tie it all together.

And here is the envelope to finish off the project.  Once again this was CASED from Dawn Olchefke.  I love her stuff!

Snowman

It's time to start thinking about our Christmas cards so this was the first one in our Card Buffet this season.  I started out with Whisper White card stock cut at 3" x 10" and scored at 5".  This was run through the Big Shot using the largest Banner Framelit making sure not to cut the folded edge.

The hat was run through the Big Shot using the Lucky Stars embossing folder.  The gold sequins were applied using a thin line of crystal effects.  The cheeks were highlighted using a sponge dauber and Pink Pirouette ink.  A red ribbon tops off our snowman and he's ready for the holidays!

And here is the sentiment I chose from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set to finish off the inside.  Thanks to Debbie Henderson for this inspiration.

Watercolor Wings

It's always fun to play with new toys.  This is my first go around with the Watercolor Wings stamp set, the Butterflies framelits, the Fluttering embossing folder and the Silver Metallic thread and the Thick Whisper White card stock.  I love how the gentle embossing adds to the focal point of the stamped butterfly.  The Silver Metallic thread isn't bold but just adds a softness that appeals to me.
By the way the Thick and regular Whisper White card stock blend BEAUTIFULLY!

And of course I can't leave the inside alone.  Here is what I did there.

Change the sentiment and all of a sudden you have a whole different card.  LOVE the Teeny Tiny Stamp Set with all of the sentiment choices!!!  With the addition of a few rhinestones, we're off and running!

Hello Baby

Here is a precious little baby card we had at our last card buffet.  The Gorgeous Grunge stamp set almost gives the impression of a fairy dust approach.  It makes it a little "dreamy".  Throw in some stars and it has us all dreaming.  I used plenty of Stampin' Dimensionals to lift the Whisper White card stock off of the colored card stock to give it more dimension.

Change up the color from Blushing Bride to Soft Sky and it is perfect for the new little guy who has just joined the planet.

Of course I have to add a little extra something on the inside so the stars seem to finish it off.  Thanks to Christine Lewis for this inspiration.

Birthday Wishes

Here is a card we featured at our last card buffet.  Simple, fast, but cute.  And I love how the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper ties all the colors together.

I ran a little of the Cherry on Top washi tape along the inside panel to tie it all together.  Thanks to Dawn Olchefske for the inspiration for this card.

Pencil Card

With the kids heading back to school, it seemed like a good time to bring this card to our Card Buffet.  The Very Vanilla card stock is cut at 8" x 8" and scored at 4" to make the card base.  I cut the Very Vanilla card stock angling it from the center (2") down to 2" on each side to form the point of the pencil.  The Hello Honey card stock is cut at 6" x 4" and the curved lines at the top of the pencil are formed using the Envelope Punch Board using the punch at 1", 2" & 3".  I stamped the sentiment before taking the Hello Honey card stock back to the Simply Scored where I scored it at 1", 2" & 3" - where the lowest dip was in the curved lines.

The Watermelon Wonder card stock was cut at 1" x 4" and added to the Hello Honey card stock.  I took this back to the Envelope Punch board where I curved the ends of the "eraser".  The 1/8" silver ribbon was put around this before adding it to the card base (where I had also already curved the corners using the Envelope Punch board.)  A 1" circle of Basic Black card stock was glued to the tip of the pencil and the extra was cut off to give the look of the lead.  I really liked using our Fast Fuse for this project.  It was clean and fast and held things well.

I hope you get a chance to make your own pencil card too!  Thanks to Linda Kaufman for the inspiration.
