Mini Gift Bag

Welcome to another Big Waddle from the Stray Ducklings.

Today I want to share with you a cute little mini gift bag that you can make out of 6" x 6" squares of paper.  For this I used our Quilted Christmas 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper but you could make this using any 6" x 6" paper.

Start off with 2 matching 6" x 6" pieces of paper.  Score both of them the same way - 3/4" on one side (this will be the top of your bag) and 1-1/2" on the other three sides.

Fold on the scored lines.  Cut out the 1-1/2" squares on ONE of the pieces and on the other one only cut from the sides to the scored line.

I used Tear & Tape and this is where the tape goes.

Start by attaching the two pieces together joining the bottom of the bag.

Bring up one of the sides and attach it to the smaller flaps from the bottom.

Next bring up the final side and attach the side edges together.

Put a bit of adhesive inside the 3/4" top flap and gently fold it into the bag and smooth it into place.

I took some scrap paper and cut it to be the width of the bag.

I folded it in half then used the 1/8" punch and punched a hole in the center.  This is now my template for punching holes at the top of the bag to add the handles.
From here I just punched the holes, cut 2 handles 7-1/2" long and threaded them through the holes and tied knots on the inside.  I used our tinsel ribbon but any ribbon would work just fine.

To make gift tags to coordinate with the bag I used used my Stampin' Write Markers and colored the "For - From" stamp using Real Red and Garden Green and stamped it on Whisper White cardstock.  This is from the Merry Little Labels stamp set.  I punched it out using the Everyday Label punch and then offset it with a layer of Garden Green cardstock also punched out with the Everyday Label punch.

Here is a close up of one of the labels.

These went together quite quickly and now I have cute bags to hand out goodies.

Have fun making your own mini gift bags!!  And enjoy waddling over to the next blog post!
