Valentine Triangle Treat Box

Welcome to another Stray Ducklings Blog Waddle.

Here is a cute little Valentine treat triangle box.  They are quite easy to make and I've been having fun making a bunch of them.

They are just big enough to put a small treat in them - whatever fits your fancy - and they are so stinking cute to give away.
So - here are the directions -
Start off with a piece of cardstock that is 8-1/2" x 6" in size.  Score the 8-1/2" side at 3" and 5-1/2".  Score the 6" side at 2" and 4".

Cut off the four rectangles at the scored lines.  You'll want to save these as you'll always find something do to with your scraps!

Using the Scalloped Topper punch, punch the two longer 2" sides as shown.

Now, make a mark on the other two sides in the middle.  It will be 1-1/4" from the edge.  You can use a pencil but I found that I could just add a mark using the Simply Scored tool and it was very quick.

Now you want to make a scored line from the mark you just made to the corner of the cut out piece.  Once again, I found my Simply Scored tool the easiest way to do this.  I just took my piece and lined it up at the last groove to of the Simply Scored tool and it worked like a charm.  Do this 4 times, twice on each side.

I don't know if you can see the scored line in the photo or not but this is how I found it easiest to do.

Now this is what your piece should look like at this point.
Use your bone folder and fold in on all the scored lines making it look like this.

Now add adhesive to these two areas as shown.  Then fold it up and attach those two sides to the back of one of the sides with the Scalloped Topper Punch.

Now your piece should look like this.  From here it's just about embellishing it and filling it with goodies.

I used Painted With Love Designer Series Paper cut at 1-1/2" x 1-3/4" and the 1" and 1-1/4" circle punches for the gold foil and Melon Mambo circles.  Yup, remember I said to save those pieces you cut out at the beginning?  Here is where you can use some of those scraps.  I also used our Sweet & Sassy heart framelits (the smallest one) to cut out the little heart.

Here is a side angle of the box.   I used the Love Mini Tinsel Trim to tie the back flap to the front to hold it together.

And now I'm ready for my gals to come for my Card Buffet this week.  Hope you have as much fun as I did making your own.
Now jump on to the next blog on this waddle...
